Product Description
What Krishikranti Bacillus Subtilis Controls
Bacillus subtilis is unique among bio fungicides it works on both fungal and bacterial diseases, and it can be sprayed directly on leaves, fruits, and flowers (unlike soil-only biologicals). It produces natural antibiotics (lipopeptides) that disrupt pathogen cell walls and forms a protective biofilm on plant surfaces.
Foliar Diseases Controlled
- Powdery mildew in grapes, cucurbits, mango, peas
- Downy mildew in grapes, cucumber, onion
- Early blight and late blight in tomato, potato
- Anthracnose in chilli, mango, banana
- Botrytis (gray mold) in grapes, strawberry
- Sheath blight and blast in paddy
- Scab in apple
- Sigatoka leaf spot in banana
Soil-Borne & Bacterial Diseases Controlled
- Bacterial wilt in tomato, brinjal, potato, ginger
- Bacterial leaf blight in paddy
- Fusarium wilt in cotton, banana, gram
- Damping off in vegetable nurseries
- Root rot, collar rot, stem rot
- Rhizome rot in ginger, turmeric

How to Apply Bacillus Subtilis
1. Foliar Spray
Use 2.5–5 g per litre of water. Spray during cool hours early morning or late evening. Cover both upper and lower leaf surfaces. Repeat at 7–10 day intervals during disease-favorable weather. Avoid spraying in direct sunlight.
2. Seed Treatment
Use 5–10 g per kg of seed. Make a slurry with water, coat seeds evenly, dry in shade, and sow within 24 hours.
3. Soil Application
Mix 2.5 kg per acre with 50–100 kg of well-decomposed FYM or vermicompost. Keep moist for 5–7 days, then broadcast at sowing or transplanting. Best for fields with bacterial wilt or fusarium wilt history.
4. Drenching (For Bacterial Wilt & Soil Diseases)
Dissolve 5 g per litre of water. Drench the root zone of affected and surrounding plants. Repeat after 10–15 days if disease pressure persists.
5. Seedling Root Dip
Dissolve 10 g per litre of water. Dip seedling roots for 20–30 minutes before transplanting.
When to Use
- Preventive: Start sprays 7–10 days before disease onset (based on weather forecast and crop history)
- At early symptoms: First spotting of mildew, leaf spot, or wilting
- During humid/cloudy weather: When fungal and bacterial diseases spread fastest
- Before flowering and fruit setting: Critical for grapes, tomato, chilli, mango
- Throughout the crop cycle: As part of IPM and organic spray programs
How It Works
Bacillus subtilis works through four mechanisms:
- Antibiotic production: Releases iturin, surfactin, and fengycin natural lipopeptides that rupture pathogen cell membranes
- Biofilm formation: Coats leaf and root surfaces, physically blocking pathogen entry
- Induced systemic resistance (ISR): Triggers the plant's own immune response
- Competition: Outcompetes pathogens for nutrients and space
Unlike Trichoderma (which is a fungus and works mostly in soil), Bacillus subtilis is a bacterium that survives well on leaf surfaces making it the go-to biological for spray-based disease management.
Why Farmers Choose Krishikranti Bacillus Subtilis
- Dual action: One product controls both fungal and bacterial diseases rare in biologicals
- Sprayable biological: Works on leaves, fruits, and flowers not just soil
- Residue-free: Zero pre-harvest interval; safe for grapes, mango, and other export crops
- Resistance management: Excellent rotation partner for chemical fungicides slows pathogen resistance
- Heat-stable formulation: Spore-based survives field conditions better than liquid biologicals
- Powdery mildew specialist: One of the most effective biological options for grape and cucurbit growers
- Organic certified: Approved for organic and natural farming systems
- Trichoderma Viride Bio Fungicide (soil-borne diseases)
- Trichoderma Harzianum Bio Fungicide
- Pseudomonas Fluorescens Bio Fungicide
- All-in-One Neem Oil (IPM partner)
- Bio Tridev (NPK Bio Fertilizer)
