Product Description
Kasugamycin 3% SL is an antibiotic-based systemic fungicide and bactericide. It controls rice blast and bacterial leaf blight in paddy, and other fungal and bacterial diseases in many crops. Krishikranti Vardha enters the plant quickly and moves inside it, giving both preventive and curative protection.
Kasugamycin is made from the natural fermentation of a soil bacterium (Streptomyces kasugaensis). It stops the disease by blocking protein production in the fungus or bacteria, so the infection cannot grow or spread.
Uses: Diseases & Crops
Kasugamycin 3% SL is mainly used to control rice blast. It is one of the few sprays that works on both fungal and bacterial diseases. It gives preventive and curative action.
| Crop | Disease Controlled |
|---|---|
| Rice / Paddy | Blast (leaf blast, neck blast), bacterial leaf blight |
| Other crops* | Various fungal and bacterial leaf diseases |
*Rice blast is the main registered use. For other crops and diseases, always use as directed on the product label.
Dose / Application Rate
The general dose of Kasugamycin 3% SL is given below. Always follow the dose printed on your pack.
| Application | Dose | Spray Volume |
|---|---|---|
| Per litre | 2–3 ml per 1 litre of water | Mix well before spraying |
| Per pump (15 L) | 30–45 ml per 15 litre pump | Spray as a fine mist |
| Per acre (foliar) | 400–600 ml per acre | In about 200 litres of water |
*Exact dose can vary by crop and disease severity. Always follow the label dose and local recommendations.
Spray Method & Timing
Spray Kasugamycin 3% SL as soon as the first disease symptoms appear. Early spraying gives the best control.
- Do the first spray soon after the disease is seen.
- Repeat after 10–15 days if disease pressure stays high.
- Spray as a fine mist for full, even leaf cover.
- Add a sticker/spreader for better results.
- Do not mix with strongly alkaline products.
- Spray in the cool hours early morning or late evening.
Mode of Action: How Kasugamycin Works
Kasugamycin is an antibiotic fungicide. It is systemic, so it moves inside the plant after spraying and reaches the disease. It works by blocking protein synthesis in the fungus and bacteria. Without protein, the pathogen cannot grow or multiply, so the disease stops spreading. Because it acts on a target that most other fungicides do not, it is useful in a spray rotation to slow down resistance.
